Katie Duke

Katie Duke is a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and public figure with
almost 20 years in healthcare. She serves as a mentor, podcast host, content creator,
and speaker.
Ms Duke was a pioneer of the healthcare provider presence on social media and is
respected most for her authentic transparency and relatable content focusing on
lifestyle and professional career experience and guidance, with an emphasis on how to
own your truth and grow through your bad decisions.
Duke completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from City University of New York
Hunter College, and obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from Columbia
University in the City of New York. Her clinical background is in emergency medicine,
advanced heart failure/transplant cardiology and mechanical circulatory support, and
cardiology medicine.
She is the host of the “Bad Decisions Podcast”, which is a Top Rated Society and
Culture Philosophy Podcast reaching audiences every week with her impactful stories of
life’s not so glorious moments.
Over the course of building her personal platform, she has worked with global brands on
influencer marketing campaigns, has been featured in women’s empowerment media
campaigns, and was featured on the 2020 Emmy Awards where she presented the
Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She is represented by Whalar

She has spoken at 50 academic and professional organization conferences and nursing
schools in her career, most recently giving the keynotes at the annual conferences of
the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the California Association for
Nurse Practitioners. Additionally, Duke is a seasoned mentor, having precepted over
125 new graduate nurses and nurse practitioners over her years of clinical practice. She
served as adjunct clinical faculty for New York University’s Acute Care Nurse
Practitioner program for 5 years and is a firm believer in the power of education and
mentorship.
She hosts annual international group retreats for healthcare professionals, strives to
promote community and normalize vulnerable and transparent dialogue about issues
facing our healthcare community, and is a leader in the nurse empowerment and creator
realm.
